Meet the 2016-2017 JSA Board

The Jewish Student Association is the overarching body for all things Jewish at GW.  Recognized by the university as one of the largest student orgs on campus, they represent the 3000+ Jewish undergrads on campus seeking their own niche within Jewish life.  Many committees make up the JSA, with each creating unique programming and opportunities to reach a wide array of populations.

In addition to Hillel I am active in my sorority and on the board of GW’s student-run record label, Searcher Records. Please reach out with questions and suggestions– we can discuss over coffee, it’s on me!

Yonah Bromberg-Gaber

Executive Vice President

My name is Yonah Bromberg Gaber and I’m excited to serve the GW Jewish community! I’m a sophomore Philosophy major from Pennsylvania with a minor in Geographical Information Systems. In addition to JSA, I’m the Graphics Editor at the GW Hatchet. In my spare time I love long walks on the mall, taking dozens of books out of the library, writing poetry with the Speakers of the House: GW Spoken Word Collective, and cooking colorful, gourmet food. I’d love to talk to you about anything Jewish, or even just about yourself, so let’s get Chai Lattes together!

Zack Toland

Shabbat & Holidays Chair

Hey all!  My name is Zack Toland and I’m a senior from Allentown, Pennsylvania majoring in History with dual minors in Political Science and Creative Writing.  Outside of Hillel, you can probably find me dabbling in all sorts of other organizations on campus or enabling my obsession with British comedy.  Hit me up anytime you’d like to talk about Shabbat and Spirituality, or if you just want to exchange movie quotes, or if you just want a free coffee.

Hi everyone! I am Erick Cohen, and I am super excited to be a part of JSA as the Freshmen Engagement Co-Chair! I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in Miami, Florida. Growing up, Jewish life has always been a big part of my identity and has definitely guided me here to GW. I am half sephardic and half ashkenazi Jew. I am an International Affairs and Economics double major at the Elliott School of International Affairs here at GW. I love playing soccer and running for fun. I can’t wait to meet all of you and continue to build on the amazing Jewish community here at GW!

I am a sister of Kappa Delta Sorority, the director of fundraising for GW dance marathon, a writer for the Odyssey, and a mentor for the WYSE program. Being a proud NFTY alumni, I found Hillel as a warm and welcoming community where I always felt at home on campus.
